The Love of Christmas

Original Music: Living for Jesus, C. Harold Lowden, 1883-1963

The love of Christmas is Christ come to earth
Born of a virgin, immaculate birth.
The faithful promise long spoken from God,
Giving creation the hope of his love.

Chorus:
O Jesus, Lord and Savior, is God’s own answer to
Thy just demand and payment that I’m indebted to,
My sins deserve thy judgment,
My pride deceives my heart,
The hope God gave on Christmas day,
Laid humbly in the dark.

The gift of Christmas is life from above,
Wrapped in man’s nature to demonstrate love.
Divine forbearance passed over our sin,
Making atonement to justify men.

Chorus:

The love of Christmas, the light of the world
Came to the darkness to find his lost pearl.
Joy in the morning by grace we are found
The Christmas treasure; God’s love has come down.

Chorus:

Such love constrains me to do thy good will
What I once hated now long to fulfill.
Thy Holy Spirit gives faith and true life
Born of thy goodness, an end to sin’s strife.

Chorus:
