Let God Be True!

(Rom. 3:3-5, Rom. 6:1-2, Psalm 24: 3-5, Mat. 5:10-11)
Original Music: God of Our Fathers, George Warren, 1828-1902.
Alternate tune: Go forth and tell

All men have lied, there’s no one that is good,
All turn aside; we do not what we should.
Is God unjust to bring upon his wrath?
Let God be true! And all else be unmasked.

What should we say, shall we continue sin?
Would not his grace abound to surely win?
May God forbid! His grace is for control.
His grace abounds to sanctify our soul.

Who may ascend, the hill of Christ, the Lord?
And who can stand before God’s holy word?
He with clean hands, a heart that’s only pure,
The blessed one, the Son of God’s pleasure.

Rise up and live, your life is hid in Christ.
Be strong and love, with all heart, soul, and might.
Love even when they persecute the name,
Blessed ye of Christ, what joy and future gain.
