Prophets Have Spoken (Amos 3-9)

Original Music: Morning has broken, Traditional Gaelic Melody; arr. Mark Hayes, (1953- )

Prophets have spoken, word of God’s knowledge,
Judgment is coming, thus says the Lord.
Praise for his loving, come now in judging
Praise for his mercy, sorrow’s reward.

Fallen from freedom, fallen all nations,
Rise up repentant, thus says the Lord.
Woe to his chosen, who live in comfort,
Woe to the prideful, judged by the sword.

Justice is speaking, yield to its teaching
Prophets of mercy, your soul to live.
Hear, O my people, thy gracious warning,
“Return and love me, seek good and live.”

God sends an offering, worship that’s pleasing
Praise for His patience, He does not sleep.
Praise Him for Jesus, remnant of Joseph
God’s own redemption, promise He keeps.

God of all glory that you would save us,
Obstinate people, Jesus our plea.
Salvation spoken, Curse in him broken,
Praise His perfection, Jesus our King.

Hallelujah, O what a Savior
Infinite wisdom, bless’d trinity.
Praise to the Father, Son, Holy Spirit
Praise for their gladness, eternally.
